Between 2019 and this year, the total attendances at the Cheltenham Festival fell by almost 50,000, from 266,779 to 218,839 (18%).

They hit a high of 280,627 in 2022 but that figure was largely due to pent-up anticipation after the pandemic. Having said that, the drop to 240,603 in ’23 and constant decline ever since owes to a series of associated cost increases like accommodation and food and drink but admission too.
